This demo version provides Level 3 predictions only for the following subjects: English, Physics, Sociology and German. Methodology

The baseline data for the predictions come from the National Pupil Database Key Stage 5 results which includes both schools and colleges. We generate predictions for each subject for each GCSE average, this works usually within a 1-point range (so we’d generate predictions separately for a student with a 37 point average and one with a 38 point average), but when there is only a small number of cases, the range is dynamically extended. For most subjects we use the data within that subject only, but results for some subjects with very low entry numbers are compared to all subjects within the same similar subject area. To make a prediction, we compare the student’s GCSE or KS4 score that has been entered to all results in the base data for students with a similar GCSE or KS4 points score. The predictions are provided either as a single grade or as a split grade to allow for a more precise prediction.
